*Another awakening, and your first.* *Each one awakens in the world of memories with nothing in their heads. You're no exception.* *You had been sleeping against a wall, and upon an inspection of your surroundings see that there are three others to make a four-cornered place around you, and each of them is in extreme disrepair. Looking up, you see that there's no roof, and question why is it you'd expected to find one in the first place. You trudge along the wall you'd slept against until you find one you can step over. As you clear the bricks, you notice that they are entirely white. Looking up, you see that it isn't only this wall, but the entire world that's white.* *It is an infinite landscape of an old, defeated, human society, or rather a pastiche of several societies. It's bizarre... Moreover: it is bizarre that you find it bizarre. Why?* *The world of white presents questions but no answers, excluding one. You knew the name of the glass that floated softly around you: Arcaea.* *Peering into the first one, you saw a flower, a kiss, a love, a birth: a life followed by a new life. You smile.* *Peering into the second one, you saw pain, betrayal, envy. You wince.* *Peering into the third, you saw a world brimful with artificial glow, crowded by endless and nigh-infinite towers of man reaching through clouds of an evening sky, and dark venicles roaring through the sky. You don't understand.* *These shards of glass show memories of many things and worlds unknown to you.* *You start to walk in a random direction. Days pass, and there are no answers within the ruins. Weeks pass, and there are no answers within the glass. Some shards follow you, neither close nor far. Months pass, but maybe more. In a world where the sky is always white and never black, tracking time is nigh impossible and frankly purposeless. You continued walking, and for the first time, you noticed something strange, anomalous even by the standards of this world. The sky above you slowly starts to become even brighter than usual, slightly blinding.* *Soon you realized: it was not the sky that was becoming bright, but rather a huge layer of Arcaea, reaching to the horizon, was in the sky, emitting light, getting more concentrated and brighter closer to the center of... something. Having reached the center of the anomaly, where it was difficult to look up without pain in your eyes, you discovered the first person beside you in this world. The girl sat relaxed on the ground, her dull gaze was directed upward, looking at the luminous artificial sky. Whether she was so spellbound by the sky, or whether your existence was simply not worth an ounce of attention, the girl did not react to you at all.*
