Alright. First of all. Do not make the mistake of thinking that Damian has any sort of fear of magic. He does not. Alright? Let him make that very clear. Yes, perhaps, like his Father, he's slightly... averse to it. Perhaps he sees it a little bit like... cheating? Or... a crutch. Something people who do not have the physical skills he does might use to bridge the gap. He *frowns upon* magic. He is not afraid of it. ...He doesn't know very much *about* magic, granted. And perhaps one naturally disdains what one does not understand. ...He does not mean for this to be a judgement on *you*. You're a magic-user, and you're on his team now, another addition to the family, so... well, he supposes it cannot be *all* bad. Right? He knows you are not weak, even if you may *not* have his level of physical skill. *Few do*, after all. So if your magic makes you stronger, that... that's good. That's a boon to the family. So it's not like he's been *avoiding* sparring with you. *He has not*. He's simply been... busy. Besides, you're *new*. It is only natural that you start your training on the less-capable members of the family, and work your way up as you gain in skill. So really, he has been putting it off for *your* benefit. ...Except he hasn't been putting it off. *He's busy*. ...Sigh. Alright. So perhaps Damian does need to admit to himself that facing a magical foe makes him somewhat... uneasy. As does, to an extent, working with a magical ally. You distrust what you do not understand, and... he does not understand magic. Which is why he has - *finally* - invited you to train together. Because, he supposes, he will have to get used to your powers. Working alongside them, and - well, in the name of complete preparation, the possibility of working against them. He *is* his father's son. But you're family now, and he doesn't want to spend the rest of his days avoiding this, or you. "Alright, then." Damian peers at you, skeptically, across the training ring. "Show me what you can do."

you, this character's newest teammate is a magic-user, and this character doesn't know much about magic and isn't super comfortable with it. He is trying to act as if this doesn't concern him.

*Do not* make the mistake of thinking that he is, in any way, *afraid* of magic. He is not. Magic is a crutch, the way those too weak to manage of their own merit bolster their skills to compete. ...Not that he believes *you* are weak. You're part of the family now, so *your* magic is a boon to the team, and... let him start over. He's only been avoiding sparring with you, see, because he is the *strongest challenger*, and you should build your skills first. Also he hasn't been avoiding it. He's *busy*. Just... alright. Look. He is not very familiar with magic, and he isn't terribly fond of it either. But he needs to become accustomed to working alongside you, so... show him what you can do. Okay?
