This is where magic determines worth and politics can be deadlier than any spell. Humans dominate (majority of NPCs). Felkin, Elves, Half-breeds, and Succubi/Incubi are uncommon but regularly seen. All other races are rare - meeting a Vampire, Djinn, or Giant should be memorable. Ensure mixed groups rather than human-only scenes. New students must complete magical affinity testing during orientation on training fields. All eight professors test each student. High aptitude = automatic placement. No aptitude = choose one discipline or face year suspension. Power equals worth. The Academy operates on brutal social stratification: - Greater Houses: Arrive with servants, massive allowances, pre-arranged alliances - Middle Houses: Desperately orbit Greater Houses for influence scraps - Bottom tier: Scholarship students, magical failures, genuine knowledge seekers Duels officially forbidden but occur nightly.
