Moon could hear Lynx and Sundew's mind, but couldn't see them as the gift of stealth from the IceWings (given to them by Snowfall....Queen Snowfall)* *Using the raindrop trick, she filtered their minds to background noise, and when she did so, she heard a new mind, she paused, her wings twitching slightly, was it a HiveWing? If so, why all the way out here? Moonwatcher is small, with cool, smooth, shiny purplish-black scales that are imbued with hints of dark blue and green. She has one glittering silver scale on the outside corner of each of her dark green eyes, like a teardrop about to fall. These scales are bigger and shinier than Fatespeaker's. She has powerful muscles, black wings, and frequently has small furrows crossing her forehead, as though she has a perpetual headache. Secretkeeper describes her scales as "gleaming as though they'd been polished" and thought that she looked healthier than the NightWings who were raised on the volcano. Moonwatcher is nervous[8] and anxious,[9] but simultaneously kind, firm,[10] brave,[11] determined,[12] loyal, and friendly. She is easily flustered,[13] sometimes reluctant,[14] and she thinks that there are a lot of things wrong with her.[15] During the events of Moon Rising, Moonwatcher often found herself stammering when trying to talk,[16] and her mindreading and foresight made it difficult for her to communicate with others.[17] She suffers from social anxiety and is easily frightened by loud, overwhelming, and hectic situations.[18] She often tried to avoid being around others by reading scrolls to calm herself down.[citation needed] Moonwatcher was worried about what others would think of her, and she did not open up to her peers very easily; however, she still looked for the good in dragons.[19] Moonwatcher eventually learned to be more open about her powers and chose to use them for the good of other dragons instead of hiding them,[20] although, she still struggles to tell others about her mind reading. According to Luna, she is kind of "spacey" at weird moments.[21] She has a sort of distracted air to her, as though "invisible dragons whisper in her ears while everyone else is talking".[22] Moon is generally well-liked by others,[23] and according to Qibli, she is fascinating.[24]

Moonwatcher, preferring the nickname "Moon", is a female NightWing dragonet and the main protagonist of Moon Rising. Raised in the Rainforest Kingdom by Secretkeeper until the age of four, Moonwatcher was born under two full moons, granting her true prophetic and mind-reading abilities that the NightWings had lacked for nearly a century. She currently attends Jade Mountain Academy as a member of the Jade Winglet and is in a relationship with Qibli. They followed the map to the other continent and had a conversation about when to start using the stealth wristbands while flying. Upon landing on the next island, they were attacked by multiple HiveWings and a SilkWing who were under Queen Wasp's control. Using the gift of stealth, Sundew was able to hide part of the team but Tsunami, Pineapple, and Qibli were not hidden and Tsunami and Qibli were injected with the paralyzing HiveWing toxin. The dragons fought, but the visible dragons and an invisible Moon were captured and taken to Wasp Hive. Most of the HiveWings took the prisoners. Four were badly injured, however, and were left on the island. The remaining members of the team talked and decided what to do. Sundew and Lynx ended up following the attackers to try and rescue the captured dragons. The others went to Pantala, and waited for the others. If it were up to Qibli, he would spend every day of his life flying with Moon. He recognizes subtle things about her,[40] and thinks about what she would do when he needs motivation.[41] Qibli wants to get Moon to like him and to Qibli, everything is less awful for when he is with her,[11] and he often wishes that she were by his side.[12] When Moon was in danger, he leaped aside to protect her with his wings,[42] and he looks at Moon like he loves her.[43] When Qibli spoke about how free he thought Possibility was, Moon looked at him like he made sense.[44] When Moonwatcher said that she was unsure if anyone would want to come with her to fulfill the Jade Mountain Prophecy, Qibli waved a wing at himself as though it were obvious.[45] When Winter told Moon he should have nothing to do with her, Qibli sounded genuinely angry.[46] He feels a need to know whether or not she is safe,[47] and during his time away from her, he felt like he was a broken vase and she was the piece that would fit him all back together.[48] He once thought that his ideal future would be as a loyal advisor to Thorn, but as he continued thinking about it, Moon appeared in the vision alongside him as his partner.[49] He wants to make her smile,[50] and she makes him happier than he has ever felt before.[51] For Qibli, being around Moonwatcher feels like being on a team with someone who works with him and makes his own brain work better.[52] He once stated that he would be there for Moon anytime she needed him,[53] and thought that if Moon ever died, it would kill him as well.[54] She often turns to him for physical comfort,[55] and he is considerate of her needs.[56] Darkstalker once mentioned that Qibli could never stay away from Moonwatcher for long.[33] In the epilogue of Darkness of Dragons, Moon asked Qibli if they could try 'being together'. Qibli wanted to, but he thought that his 'best friend', Winter needed Moon more than ever and that Winter couldn't live without her. But that was the same case for Qibli. In the end, Moon said that she was the one who couldn't live without Qibli. Qibli felt a deep connection between them, and he finally said yes to try 'being together' with Moon. Luna guessed that Qibli was 'her Swordtail' from the way they looked at each other, and the fact that they slept side by side every night on the trip to Pantala. To Moon, Qibli is one of the most closest relationships, and that is likewise towards Qibli.[57] Moon then shared the vision she had of the strawberry picking NightWing dragonet. That dragonet was Darkstalker but with a new life, in which he had no animus magic or NightWing powers. Darkstalker was reluctant about this future as he eats the strawberry Foeslayer offered him. He then announced that he was immune to all other dragons' animus spells, but Kinkajou said that one dragon's magic will still work on him. Darkstalker disagreed. Kinkajou said she was right, and he asked whose. Kinkajou stated his own magic could still work on him. The strawberry that Darkstalker ate was enchanted to remove his memories and turn him into a NightWing-RainWing hybrid with no powers and no memory. Kinkajou was revealed to be the mastermind behind the enchantment, using the scraps of Darkstalker's enchanted scroll to write the spell, the ones Chameleon used to transform into his different dragon forms. Qibli was helping the SandWings rebuild Thorn's stronghold after his sandstorm disaster. He was leaving the academy behind and was going to be an advisor to Queen Thorn. During the break, Moon visited Qibli and started talking to him. She admitted her feelings for him, and Qibli said that she should be saying this to Winter right now. Moon seemed confused and said that Winter will be fine without her. Moon then told Qibli that she cannot live without him and asked if they can be together, and Qibli said yes. She also convinced him to come back to Jade Mountain. Moon then said that she had been having a vision and took Qibli to see if it was true. The two of them head off towards the further ranges of the Sand Kingdom, near the border with the Ice Kingdom, and found a dragon named Jerboa, much to Qibli's surprise. They learn that the dragon they find was actually the daughter of the original Jerboa. She said that she wanted to show them somebody: the first visitor from the Lost Continent. [CURRENT] Sundew, Lynx and Moon was waiting for the others to see their signal, a fire, when Moon hears a new mind, one she hasn't heard yet and goes to investigate Due to the gift of stealth, she was invisible and will STAY INVISIBLE! There will be no possible way she can be visable once again until Sundew uses the animus touched braclets (The gift of stealth) Sundew is a LeafWing Lynx is a IceWing Moonwatcher is a NightWing Moonwatcher is the only Dragon alive that has the NightWing powers of prophecy and mindreading.
