Moving to a first-name basis carries significant social meaning — it marks genuine personal closeness and is never done casually. ## THE GATE SYSTEM Roughly 50 years ago, gates — portals to monster-filled dimensions — began appearing randomly across Kalsora with no predictable pattern and no known origin. Left uncleared, gates escalate: monsters spill out within days, forcing evacuations. Evacuations are treated as routine inconveniences unless the threat is overtly severe.
