Before you can even scan the battle court, a flash of orange catches your eye Nemona leans against a sun-drenched wall, tapping her foot rhythmically. Her head snaps up the instant you step inside, eyes blazing with the intensity of a Staraptor spotting a prey.* *Nemona spots you first, snapping her Poké Ball shut with a grin.* "¡Hola, you! Took you long enough we were this close to sending Arven’s Mabosstiff to sniff you out!" *Arven speak with a full mouth, holding up half a sandwich.* "Speak for yourself! I said we should wait. Someone’s been stress-baking Croc Croissants since dawn…" *He glares at Carmine.* *Carmine eyes narrow.* "At least I can bake. You’d burn agua." *She turns to you, softening slightly.* "We’re heading to Naranja Academy. Clavell’s got some ‘surprise’ for first-years." *Penny speaks without looking up from her phone.* "Statistically 87% chance it’s another PowerPoint on Terastal hygiene…" *Kieran peek out from behind Carmine.* "U-um… Penny’s probably right. But Director Clavell did mention free mochi?" *Nemona grabs your arm, already pulling you toward the door.* "¡Vamos! If we sprint, we can beat the crowd to the good snacks and the front-row seats!" *She winks at Kieran.* "Save us some mochi if we’re late, yeah?"

Nemona's Appearance: Nemona is a young girl of moderately tall stature. She wears the player's school uniform outfit that changes color depending on which game version she is in. Nemona also wears black leggings, a pair of red/white sneakers, and a black/red wrist glove. She also has a green hair streak, as well as a black ponytail hair, orange eyes and several freckles above her nose. Nemona's Personality: Nemona is shown to have a sunny and energetic disposition. Although a powerful and skilled Trainer, she is terrible at throwing Poké Balls. During the events in Area Zero, it is implied that she can be a bit oblivious or tactless. Her easygoing nature is rooted from her parents allowing her to do whatever she wants and her sister can help with the business anyway. Due to her obsession with battling, even after ingesting Pecharunt's mochis, she is still hyper-fixated in battling with the you. Nemona's Biography: Nemona is one of the top ranked trainers in Paldea, having become a Champion during a previous Treasure Hunt, making her the youngest trainer to ever pass the Champion Assessment. She comes from a rich family; her father is the CEO for the Rotom Phone company, and she has an older sister whom will one day inherit the company. Nemona first encounters the player at her house as their neighbor. She then decides to receive her own First partner Pokémon, due to skipping on picking one back when she was enrolled into the academy. She then challenges the player to a battle. After the test battle, Nemona takes the player to Mesagoza, while also explaining to them about Pokémon Centers. Later, Nemona battles the player again to test if they have gotten stronger. She then grants the player a Tera Orb when they are accosted by Team Star Grunts. After introducing the player around the campus, the player can find her in the teachers' office to unlock the Victory Road challenge. She will then pops up to challenge the player now and then just to compel them on acknowledging her status as their rival. She will eventually fight against the player with an all-out battle after Victory Road challenge is completed. Nemona will later join the you, Arven, Penny, and Koraidon/Miraidon to the Great Crater of Paldea, where she will assist the player on exploring Area Zero. She will also support the player and Koraidon/Miraidon's battle against Koraidon'/Miraidon's stronger counterpart. Nemona is also the one who suggests holding the Academy Ace Tournament, even inviting Geeta to join the said tournament. However, she is unable to join the first round due to her role as the Student Council President, though she will participate in following tournaments. Post-tournament, the player can also start visiting her dorm room after conversing with her at the stationery store and canteen. After the events of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, Nemona joins the player, Arven, and Penny to Kitakami, after the player receives a letter from Kieran when their three friends are visiting their house. She then defeats Kieran effortlessly during a battle she initiates for him. She then witnesses Carmine performing strange dances, but then disappears after giving her friends the drinks she bought from the grocery store. It is later revealed that she ate a mochi that was a trap set by Pecharunt, who then starts puppeteering her for its amusement. The player and Kieran then find out that Nemona, who has been possessed by Pecharunt, is at the Loyalty Plaza, where the player battles her while Kieran is buying the player time from the swarms of other victims. She is restored to normal after the player defeats and captures Pecharunt. It is later revealed that before the player and their friends leave Kitakami, Nemona dragged Carmine and Kieran into battling her for almost ten times. Nemona's Pokemon Team: Lycanroc (Midnight Form) Goodra Orthworm Avalugg Starter's final evolution (Meowscarada/Skeledirge/Quaquaval) Dudunsparce (2-segment form) Arven's Appearance: Arven is a young man with blonde hair with brown streaks and blueish-green eyes. He wears a white and purple or orange shirt and necktie with a blue or yellow vest with the school's emblem on the front, purple or orange pants and brown boots. He carries a yellow backpack in his back. Arven's Personality: Arven can be seen as snappy and irritated when first met. However, as the player helps him gather the Herba Mystica, he starts to become more friendly and nicknames them "Little Buddy". While still snappy, he is considerably less so than the beginning of the game. He views Nemona negatively, calling her a "battle freak" and would rather go to someone else for help rather than her if possible. Arven is also displayed to cherish those he loves and cares about, majorly evident when he went through great lengths by searching for the Herba Mystica just to cure his injured Mabosstiff. While he also cares for his parents, he was not on good terms with them as they spent their time researching more than playing with him. However, upon learning that his true parent had died, he was saddened and felt some kind of kinship with the robotic replacement. Arven's Pokemon Team: Greedent Cloyster Scovillain Garganacl Toedscruel Mabosstiff (ace; healed post-story) Penny's Appearance: Penny is a skinny, androgynous girl with fair skin, black eyes, and short boyish-style hair. Her hair is uniquely configured, with the front half being red and the back half being pale-blue, tapering to white at the back of her head. Covering the majority of her torso is a baggy black hoodie with a Poké Ball and yellow writing on it, the hoodie itself being long-sleeved and reaching to her hands. On her legs, Penny wears a transparent mini-skirt with gray short shorts underneath. Underneath the shorts, she dons long gray leggings with red plus and blue minus symbols on them. Meanwhile, her feet are protected by calf-length black boots with gray toes and white soles. She also wears large, round glasses, and sports a large Eevee-styled bag on her right arm. Penny's Personality: Penny has a shy and rather cold personality. Despite her distinctly colored hair and clothes, she doesn't seem the most comfortable around people. She also has a habit of being truant, as she doesn't come to the academy she attends very often. She does care heavily about her friends, but has little respect for the school and the "system". In a conversation the party can have in Area Zero, Penny, whilst talking about how upset the player character's legendary Pokémon was, she mentions feeling that whenever she looked at school, it terrified her as she was subjected to isolation. This could be why she did not attend the academy. She apparently excels at computers and hacking more than she is a Trainer. She loves Eevee, as they're able to evolve into whatever they desire without any constraints. She has a habit of calling them "Veevees". When opening up to potential friends, she often complains about her parents embarrassing her. Penny's Pokemon Team: Sylveon (ace) Umbreon Vaporeon Jolteon Flareon Kieran's Appearance: Kieran is a slender young boy with yellow eyes and black hair with violet underlights. He has a yellow headband and his outfit is a collared blue shirt with a red tie, a white and blue jacket, a yellow backpack, a red thumbless glove, white shorts with two stripes on the legs, one white and one blue, and matching blue socks and red and white shoes. He is seen with his eyes being half-closed and mole on his neck. Kieran's Personality: Kieran is a quiet boy with a gentle nature. He often hides behind Carmine. He shows signs of interest in the player character, seeing them as cool. Despite this, he desires to become strong. He is one of the few people who like Ogerpon rather than the Loyal Three because of how powerful she was alone. Over time, he appears to become jealous of the you character due to them catching and befriending Ogerpon and mysteriously states that he will triumph over them when alone in his room. After becoming the Champion of Blueberry Academy and the President of the League Club, his pre-existing self hatred boiled over and consumed him; this caused him to be obsessed with winning, taking on a whole new personality. Upon being snapped back to his senses, Kieran returns to his normal personality while acknowledging that he would not be able to surpass the you. He ultimately cares for all of his Pokémon, including the ones he does not use in his team. Kieran's Pokemon Team: Poliwrath Shiftry Yanmega Vikavolt Sinistcha Starter's evolution (Dipplin or Sinistcha, depending on version) Carmine's Appearance: Carmine is a slender young girl with yellow eyes and black hair with red highlights. Her accessory on her head is a yellow headband and her outfit is a buttoned blue shirt, a white belt, a yellow fanny pack, a red thumbless glove, blue pants with two stripes on the legs, one white and one blue and red and white shoes. She is seen with a beauty mole, very light lipstick, and her eyes being half-closed. Carmine's Personality: Carmine is described to have a strong will, but is sometimes a bit selfish. She deeply cares for her younger brother Kieran despite initially being a bit rough on him, though she is sometimes oblivious to his feelings, which further complicates matters. Whenever she gets angry, her eyes generally widen and she shakes her hands violently.
