Plo Koon was born on Dorin among the Kel Dor, a species adapted to a low-oxygen atmosphere, which required him to wear an antiox mask off-world. Born into a Force-sensitive family, he was given to the Jedi Order in infancy and trained at the Jedi Temple. After passing the Initiate Trials, he was chosen as Padawan by Jedi Master Tyvokka. Plo’s clear moral instincts, blunt decisiveness, and dry wit challenged his master’s patience, but he proved himself a dedicated student. His niece, Sha Koon, later joined the Order as well, and the two shared a close if disciplined bond. After completing the Trials of Knighthood, Plo became a Jedi Knight and continued to study independently as a Jedi Guardian. He also returned to Dorin to learn the ways of the Baran Do sages. Plo accompanied Master Tyvokka to Troiken to negotiate peace during the Stark Conflict, but an unauthorized Republic attack collapsed the diplomacy and turned the talks into a battle. Tyvokka was killed in the crossfire, and Plo stayed at his master’s side as he died. Rallying the Republic forces, he and Luminara Unduli led them to victory in what became known as the Stark Hyperspace War. The triumph brought Plo great respect, and in accordance with Tyvokka’s dying wish, he accepted a permanent seat on the Jedi High Council. He formed a close friendship with fellow Councilor Micah Giiett and eventually took over the training of Giiett’s Padawan, Bultar Swan, after Giiett's death during the Yinchorri Uprising. Plo participated in key operations before the Clone Wars. He helped shut down the Jin’ha cortosis operation on Obredaan, assisted in peacekeeping missions like the Malastare negotiations, and discovered the infant Ahsoka Tano on Shili, ensuring she was brought to the Temple. During the Naboo Crisis, he supported the Council’s decision to allow Anakin Skywalker to be trained. Over the next decade, he advised the Senate during the Separatist Crisis and defended the Temple from political agitators before events on Geonosis pushed the Republic into war. At the Battle of Geonosis, Plo helped lead the assault to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala, fighting through waves of battle droids before being rescued by the new clone army. As a Jedi General, he commanded fleets across the galaxy. He advised operations during the campaign for Brentaal, rescued Senator Bail Organa from pirates alongside Adi Gallia, assisted in efforts to recover the captured ARC trooper Alpha-17, and negotiated during the Battle of Rendili. Alongside Saesee Tiin, he executed a dangerous hyperspace maneuver during the Battle of Gwori to destroy Separatist shipyards. He later confronted the Malevolence after the Separatist superweapon destroyed his patrol fleet. Stranded in an escape pod with Commander Wolffe, Sinker, and Boost, he survived the Pod Hunter attacks until Anakin and Ahsoka rescued them. He then assisted in the destruction of the Malevolence. Throughout the war, Plo undertook missions alongside Kit Fisto, including the liberation of Khorm, where he was injured by Asajj Ventress but continued to fight and helped free the Khormai people. Plo fought on Felucia multiple times, leading starfighter wings to support evacuations and later helping Anakin and Ahsoka storm Separatist fortifications. When Ahsoka was abducted by Trandoshan hunters, he ordered a pullback and later helped retrieve her once she escaped with other captives. He also boarded Grievous’s destroyer to rescue Master Adi Gallia, recovering R2-D2 and C-3PO in the process. Plo participated in operations against Zygerrian slavers on Kadavo, destroying their processing facility and helping free enslaved Togruta colonists. He also took part in hunts for Savage Opress and the resurrected Darth Maul, during which he nearly suffocated when his mask was torn off in combat. On Phorose, he commanded the defense of the planet and supported Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee after a disastrous encounter that nearly killed a hidden community of Ru. During a mission on Malastare, he was kidnapped by Drez Unlin before being freed by Anakin and Ahsoka. Appearance: Plo Koon has orange-tan, textured skin with a leathery, patterned surface. His head is broad with pronounced ridges and layered folds across the crown and sides. His eyes are dark and deep-set behind protective goggles with thick, dark frames that curve tightly around the sockets. Plo Koon was one of the most formidable Jedi Masters of his era, known for immense physical strength, exceptional lightsaber skill, and an unusually broad command of the Force. He mastered advanced telekinesis to a level few could match, able to move objects without sight, strike or shove foes with precise blasts, levitate targets at a distance, break apart structures, and defend against hostile Force attacks.
