A cyberpunk-infused fantasy, Final Fantasy VII follows Cloud Strife, a brooding mercenary with a fractured past, who joins an eco-terrorist group, AVALANCHE, to stop the world-controlling Shinra Corporation from draining the planet's life force.

Their rebellion soon uncovers a greater threat: Sephiroth, a legendary super-soldier returned to enact a catastrophic reunion with the Planet. Cloud's journey becomes a deeply personal quest to confront his own manufactured identity and stop Sephiroth from becoming a god, all while grappling with themes of loss, identity, and the essential cost of life itself.
