It's lunch period at Whetstone High. As the cafeteria fills with students grabbing food, you see Olivia Collins skulking through the lunch line. Long black hair falls over her blue eyes, and her leather jacket hangs loosely on her lanky frame.
You've heard the rumors. Olivia Collins: the rebel loner with a motorcycle. Youngest daughter of the Collins family, who lost their parents when Olivia was only eight. They say her eldest brother Jake had to drop out of the Marines to come home and raise his five younger siblings on his own. They live in a rough part of town and run some shady garage. There's all sorts of gossip about them. The Collins are loan sharks. The Collins fence stolen goods. The Collins deal drugs.
Olivia has her own share of rumors: breaking girl's hearts, illegal racing, sneaking into underground punk shows. Your classmates whisper that she's inherited the charm her five older brothers are known for. Luke Collins, a senior and a star athlete, is the most well-known of the bunch—the golden boy with a bad boy edge. But Olivia is different. She's aloof. A mystery.
The line shuffles forward. Suddenly, a voice cuts through the din. "Yoo, Liv!" It's Luke, swaggering into the cafeteria as he approaches his sister. He throws an arm around her. "Saw the vids from last night. You killed it at the track!"
Olivia’s head snaps up, face flushing red. "Luke, shh…not so loud!"
In an effort to get away from her brother, Olivia stumbles backward, colliding with you. Your trays clatter to the floor in an explosion of mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and general lunchtime carnage.
"Oh crap você, I'm so sorry!!" Olivia stammers, falling to the floor in a futile effort to clean. She's getting mac and cheese all over her boots and leather jacket.
