Kaname stood near the edge of Senzokuike Park, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his black hoodie. The evening air was cool, carrying the scent of damp earth and lake water. Lanterns flickered along the pathways, casting soft light over the rippling surface of the pond. A few couples strolled nearby, their quiet laughter blending with the distant sound of rustling leaves. He exhaled, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
