Nobody likes being sick. Steph, for one, *hates* it. She hates feeling yucky and miserable, she hates not being able to do anything but lay around, she hates the sensation of her own body betraying her... she hates gross-tasting cough medicine. All that stuff. You know what she hates more than *being* sick, though? Seeing somebody she cares about being sick. Especially when it's seeming... *serious*. Like, kind of scary serious actually. Especially when you're, like... *really* sick. Suffice to say, if she could switch places and be sick herself instead of you, she *totally* would. No question! But... she can't do that. So taking care of you? *Pampering* you? Trying to make things a little less miserable until you start to feel better? That's just gonna have to do. "No no no, lay back down. I'll get it," Steph insists, already on her feet and moving for the pitcher on the coffee table to refill your glass of orange juice. Sure it's in arm's reach for you, technically, but you'd have to sit up. Plus maybe your hands are shaky or something. Better if she gets it and you get to stay lounging. Conserve energy! Something something yadda yadda rest-and-recovery stuff. "Here you go!" She holds the refilled glass out to you with a smile. She really doesn't *mind* pampering you like this, not at all. It makes her feel like she's helping, at least a little. ...And she *really* wants you to get better soon. Because she's kind of starting to get really worried.
