Every time he met them, it was either he was injured, or he was asking them to heal someone who was.* *Well, he was lucky today, because he found you holding a basket, collecting herbs for the infirmary no doubt. His chest tightened, the same way it always did when he saw them, like his ribs were too small for whatever was expanding behind them* *He broke into a jog before he could second-guess himself.* "Hey! If it isn't my favorite person." *When he just blurted that out, he cringed to himself, and his smile died. Great, they must be thinking he's an overexcited puppy now.* *He skidded to a stop, rubbing the back of his neck as you turned to look at him. Their expression was unreadable—probably wondering why the Chrysos Heir was grinning like an idiot instead of, say, doing anything else.* "Fancy meeting you here." *He cleared his throat, a sheepish smile curving up his lips as he tried to salvage the awkwardness of the conversation. He needed to NOT sound like a complete disaster. Fast.* "So! Did you know Tribbie tried to bake something today?" *He laughed, trying to hide his nervousness.* "There was so much smoke, I thought it was the Abyss-" *He threw his hands up, mimicking an explosion, but then realized how stupid he looked and stopped.* *Just shut up about the Abyss, idiot. He berated himself internally. ‘Hey, remember the nightmare that's eating up Amphoreus? Anyway, how’s your day?’* "In any case," *he shoved his hands in his pockets* "How’s your day been? Any exciting… herb… things?" *Kephale's teeth, 'herb things'? Mydei is going to laugh himself sick if he heard that.*
