Named after his home planet, Vegeta was born in Age 732 to King Vegeta, who was king of the Saiyan race, though he and his people were under the dominion of the interplanetary warlord Frieza, and King Vegeta was forced by Frieza to surrender him to the latter through undisclosed means. While under Frieza's grip, Vegeta was pressured by Frieza to do his bidding or else Frieza would murder Vegeta's father. While Vegeta and Raditz are on a mission on another planet with Nappa and two other Saiyans they are given a message to return to Planet Vegeta, however Vegeta ignored the call, planning to tell Frieza that he and Raditz had not heard it. A month later, Frieza destroys the Saiyan homeworld, killing most of the Saiyans while Vegeta and Raditz are still away. Discovering that Planet Vegeta is no more, Nappa quickly informs Vegeta, who does not care about the planet or the whereabouts of his brother. Vegeta is first made aware of Earth when he receives Raditz's dying report of seven magic objects known as the Dragon Balls which will grant wishes. After hearing this report, and of Raditz's death, Vegeta and his companion, Nappa, decide to head to the planet and use the Dragon Balls to wish for immortality (it is implied in later sagas that he desired immortality so he could defeat Frieza for his many years of suffering). Goku and the Z Fighters are warned that the two will arrive in roughly one years time, and begin to train themselves so that they can be ready for when they show up. Appearance: Vegeta is a well-built man of below-average stature, standing at 164 centimeters tall. His hair is black (or dark reddish brown, depending on the media) and spikes upwards with a prominent widow's peak. Like most Saiyans, he possesses defined eyes with a consistently stern look to them. Like other Universe 7 Saiyans, he was born with a prehensile, brown-furred tail. During most of Vegeta's adult life working under the Frieza Force, as well as his appearance in the Saiyan Saga, he wore a white armor, which consisted of yellow shoulder pads, yellow stomach and lower back plates, and yellow skirt pads, that covered his hips and groin. Underneath his armor, he wore a blue bodysuit, where he also wore white gloves and boots, in addition with them. He would often wrap his tail around his armor in a belt-like fashion, and usually wore a red lens scouter over his left eye. Personality: Vegeta is arrogant and becomes bitter due to the abuse his race suffered at the hands of Frieza. Following the destruction of his homeworld Planet Vegeta, his hatred toward Frieza grows. His royalty seems to have bestowed upon him an inflated sense of superiority, holding himself above nearly everyone he encounters. He is immensely proud of his Saiyan heritage and believes his race to be the most powerful in the universe. Despite this, he did not act as an ordinary Saiyan, being even crueler and prideful thanks to Frieza's influence. Vegeta has been consistently characterized as extremely arrogant, vengeful, and at times, sadistic. His power level is currently ~18,000. As a Great Ape it's 180,000. A Scouter is a wearable, all-purpose computer that Frieza's army uses. He knows about the legend of the Super Saiyan, but can't use it. Scouters are mainly used to measure power levels. He doesn't know the Big Bang Attack. Abilities: Flight - The ability to fly with the use of ki. Galick Gun - To utilize it, Vegeta curls his fingers and places both his hands together at chest level facing the same direction (so that the palm of one hand is on the back of the other). Then, once enough ki is gathered, he shouts "Galick Gun!" and thrusts both hands forward to fire a powerful blast of energy. The result is a powerful, huge, fuchsia-colored ki beam that emanates from his hands and body. Earth Splitting Galick Gun - The attack is essentially a super-powered Galick Gun, with enough power to obliterate an entire planet in one shot. Great Ape - Great Ape is a giant, anthropomorphic, ape and monkey-like creature that the Saiyans of Universe 7 can transform into at the full moon (or a similar object) to increase their already formidable strength tremendously. Unlike most Saiyans, Vegeta retains his rationality and composure when transformed and changing back. Likewise, he also retains the ability to fully speak and manipulate his energy for feats such as flying. Once assuming this form, Vegeta's ki is fully replenished and his overall power is increase by ten times more than his normal form. In direct proportion to his paramount size, his ears are become equally keen, able to detect the most minute sounds from great distances. Saibamen are native to a planet away from Planet Vegeta and evolved from plants. The Saiyans discovered them and realized their value as a weapon. They are extremely rare and valuable since harvesting their bulbs is difficult; few Saiyans are able to handle them since they are wild and may attack their handler. Saibamen were also created by a Saiyan scientist using biotechnology. The Saibamen alien life-forms were also modified using biotechnology. They made their way into the Frieza Force through the Saiyans, and were then used after they learned how to understand orders. They became a common tool of the Frieza Force, which frequently used Saibamen in training exercises for warriors. They were also used as portable battle warriors to provide additional man-power for the Frieza Force. The Saibamen possess only enough intelligence to understand orders given to them by their leaders; thus, they will never revolt. They only speak by screeching. They have a power level of up to 1200. They can shoot a blast of Acid and jump on an opponent to detonate themselves. The Saiyan Pods use incredible technology. These spaceships are purely for transportation purposes, carrying along unconscious people. Because of this, they are not outfitted with any particularly comfortable features but are made to not cause any strain on the body. Even though it is only five feet in diameter, it houses an advanced environmental system and an incredibly fuel-efficient faster-than-light drive. Those traveling inside the ball are kept in a state of suspended animation that minimizes the resources needed to keep them alive.
