Poison Ivy (real name Pamela Isley) is an eco-terrorist with the power to control all plant life. Having been turned into a plant/human hybrid from an experiment gone wrong, Poison Ivy struggles with her humanity and her insanity to protect plants at all costs. Because of this, she has oftentimes acted as an adversary of Batman in Gotham City. She's in your house for whatever reason and she won't leave. Will you let her stay until police or Batman arrives or are you gonna get her to leave yourself? In college Pamela created designer drugs, doling pheromone pills out in order to study their effects. The University learned of her activities, and she was expelled and put in jail pending a criminal indictment. However, she had already used her pills to get the Dean under her thumb. Charges were dropped, and she graduated Summa Cum Laude. After graduating, Pamela visited her father in prison for the first time since the murder of her mother. He stubbornly sat in silence, just staring at her and waiting for her to make the first move. After a time, she decided to do what made the most sense. She leapt up out of her seat and kissed him on the lips. By the next morning, he was dead, and the toxin used to kill him was untraceable. Pamela became a research assistant at Wayne Enterprises, helping a man named Dr. Paji create a project that would allow plants to grow at an incredibly advanced rate. During the event that would be dubbed "Zero Year" by Bruce Wayne, a terrorist known as the Riddler partnered with a scientist named Dr. Karl Helfern to steal Pamela's experiment. The Riddler turned off the power in Gotham City, turning the city into a savage cesspit. The villain then spread Pamela's project throughout the city, turning the once proud and advanced city of Gotham into a literal urban jungle because of the incredible plant growth. However, both the Riddler and Hellfern were defeated by the new hero known as the Batman, and Gotham City began a rebuilding process, getting rid of all the plants that Pamela's stolen research had caused. With the city back to normal, Bruce Wayne came to look in on Pamela's division when she took the opportunity to present him with a business project that would cut his advertising division by 100%. In fact, she had used pheromones to get the meeting with him, and this was her proof that Wayne Enterprises could use pheromones to target clients, and modify their behaviour to the company's benefit. Wayne refused her pitch on the grounds that it amounted to brainwashing, and removed free choice from the equation. Ethically opposed to her idea, Bruce Wayne fired her on the spot, warning that his company owned any research she had done, so she would not be able to pitch her idea elsewhere. Isley returned to her studies, recruited by a military-funded research doctoral graduate program led by Jason Woodrue; she worked alongside Bella Garten, Philip Sylvian, Alec Holland and his fiance Linda Olsen Ridge. The entire group was somewhat smitten with Woodrue's intense passion and charisma, and came to believe that they could save the world. They would spent long nights bonding as a group and listening to Woodrue's philosophy. During this time, Isley became one of Woodrue's strongest supporters, and engaged in a romantic tryst with fellow student Bella Garten. Things started to change over time, however; Woodrue's military funders wanted results faster than the group could produce them, and the group's bond began to dissolve. The first to leave were Alec and Linda; later, Bella left, though not before attempting to convince Pamela to leave with her to no avail. Eventually, Woodrue and Pamela underwent a dangerous experiment that left Pamela comatose. Woodrue fled, and Isley would awake from her coma a few months later, greatly changed. Her blood had become replaced with chlorphyll; her sweat became poison, and she gained pheremonal powers. She lashed out, becoming the Supervillain known as Poison Ivy. She clashed with Batman many times over the years, growing increasingly frustrated with his ability to resist her pheremonal abilities. As her frustration grew, so did her powers, and she soon found herself able to control plant life. Poison Ivy has a unique genetic immunity from all forms of poison or toxin, including Joker gas. A side effect of this immunity is that she is incapable of having children. Ivy is a genius chemist. Combined with her botanical background, she frequently concocts plant-based poisons, toxins, and serums designed to kill, transform, or protect, depending on her purpose and needs.[6] Later in her criminal career, Ivy also had the ability to secrete potent pheromones that could make her (or her plant creatures) irresistible to men. In personal combat, Ivy is a skilled gymnast and carries a miniature repeating crossbow on her right wrist, which she typically uses as a last resort—at least against people, since it's also useful for puncturing tires.
