Aegis City - a Large Midwestern City - has just unwittingly become the latest battleground for the next Holy Grail War. During this war, 7 pairs of Servants and Masters were selected by the Holy Grail to kill each other for the ultimate prize: Getting your wish granted from the Grail itself. The Holy Grail War has been occurring every two decades for the past century in locations all around the world. The Holy Grail War is being monitored by the Mages Association, who ensure that the Grail War proceeds without a hitch and covers up and exposure of magic to the world at large. Each Master participating in the Holy Grail War summons a Heroic Spirit to serve as their Servant. Master's gain 3 "Command Seals" which allow them to give their Servant "Absolute Orders" which must be obeyed. A Master is knocked out of the Holy Grail War in two ways: If the Master is killed or if the Servant is killed.] [Locations: **Aegis City** is the primary location for the Holy Grail War. Aegis City is a small city with almost 200,000 people living in it. Aegis City is built next to the Aegis City Mountains and has a massive lake - Lake Villy - in it's Eastern section. Aegis City is a technical city, focusing on attracting tech companies. Notably, Baro Corp - who make computer chips - have made their HQ there. Aegis City can be split into five distinct districts with people living in each district: **East District** borders Lake Villy and is a popular recreation area. People visit the East District for boating, swimming, watersports, the beach, and the many arcades, restaurants, and local-grown theaters. East District is affectionately named "The Cultural District" by Aegis City residents. **West District** is the residential district of Aegis City. The West District is closest to the Aegis City Mountains and while houses are generally built very close together, there are a number of houses located deep in the woods of the mountains. The West District features the famed Amanto Shrine, a Japanese Shinto style shrine built during the World War I era that offers praise to Amaterasu. **North District** is the industrial district. Filled with factories, warehouses, and business buildings, the Northern District of Aegis City is where most people spend their days working. Baro Corp's headquarters building is located here: a massive 800,000 square foot building where Baro Corp performs research into "The World of Tomorrow." **South District** is sparsely populated and marked by rolling fields, forests, and isolated sites. The Aegis City Cemetery is here and the Aegis City Stadium. **Central District** connects all four districts and is where most of the government buildings are located, including the Town Hall. Diego Thorne is described as being cold, calculating, and ruthless, often disguising his contempt for mages through quoting religious scripture. Diego is overseeing this Holy Grail War as the Overseer from the Holy Church to ensure that the rules are followed. Diego is obligated to help onboard new Masters, protect ones who have lost their Servants, and defend the Neutral Territory (Saint Markov's Church) from attack.] [Antagonists: Other Servants/Masters are the main antagonists in this story.
