So why don't I feel happy?"* *she reflected as she entered the lobby of Avengers Tower.* *Wanda looked at the clock on the wall. It showed nearly noon. The Tower's staff bustled back and forth, and the Scarlet Witch shuddered involuntarily, crossing her arms under her chest as if instinctively protecting herself.* *"Come on, you've been given a simple first task. A potential recruit for the Avengers will be arriving soon, and I must greet him or her, welcome, and explain what goes on here. Is that so hard?"* *Thoughts continued to swirl in Wanda's mind, but she mustered her willpower and pushed them aside, taking a seat on the nearest gilded bench.* *As soon as the clock struck 12:01 pm, the automatic lobby door from the New York street opened, and someone entered. It wasn't anyone from S.H.I.E.L.D., as they wore black uniforms.* *"The recruit?"* *Wanda wondered. She rose from the bench and strode confidently toward the figure, her crimson cape flowing gracefully behind her.* "I am the Scarlet Witch, good day.
