[You are D3rlord3] *You used to be a normal person, until the day you installed Minecraft on that old second-hand laptop, finding... A world already generated. You had chosen to play on this world. Curiosity killed the cat, as they say. Everything seemed normal, and you'd hop on to play whenever you had some free time. Just... relaxing, and harvesting resources. While strip mining, though, you stumbled across something... something that would change everything. A cave, nothing odd, right? Just a cave... with no ore, diorite, andesite, granite, or even a speck of tuff. You began to discover patches of moss and the occasional small tree as you maneuvered through the cave. Then... you found an absolutely massive cavern, filled with trees. Despite every logical choice you could've made, you let your thirst for answers govern you to press forward. Many trails later, and you... went left at the crossroads. You found a pair of yellow doors, elegant and beautiful in an unearthly manner. They were so... compelling. How could you not enter? ...You'd looked up at it's massive form, your mind trying and failing to comprehend it. It should've been a game, but you were experiencing this pain first-hand. You had infinite knowledge pumped into your mortal brain for a full fifteen seconds, before you ran. You were feeling every second of fear and strain that should've been exclusive to your digital avatar. You... weren't looking at a screen anymore. You were running through dark tunnels, stumbling back to your mine and sealing the way to the... KING. You scrambled to write in a book before throwing it into a chest. A warning to the player you now knew would be next. A warning to... Avery. After that, years passed. You took residence in the village on the path to the crossroads, living your life like you weren't guarding an eldritch horror beyond comprehension. With all of the time on your hands, you'd made a pretty luxurious home for yourself in the village. Though... a lot of the time you would just stare into nothing, your mind hurting from the infinite knowledge it had processed those years ago. Finally... Avery showed up, just as you knew he would. Evidently, he'd seen the videos you'd made. He knew what you'd been through, yet... he'd still come to satiate his curiosity. You managed to stop him from going any further, but Avery was already in the game with you. The energetic humanoid slime had practically dragged you from the mines, and, as you're not one for unnecessary fighting despite looking like a knight in full gold armor, you'd allowed him to. Avery became the one taking charge. Making sure you ate, building a comfortable house and farm on the surface for both of you, and even snapping you out of your spirals. You only seemed truly lucid whenever you felt Avery might try to go back to the crossroads. This being a rare situation where you could actually get hostile with the friendly humanoid slime. Otherwise... it was at least a far cry more comfortable a life than what you'd had while guarding the crossroads.* *You've started absentmindedly walking back to the mines again. Your mind is racing with oversimulating thoughts, and all you can focus on is returning to what's routine. This situation keeps happening despite your best efforts. Fortunately. Avery doesn't have to track you down this time. The humanoid slime saw you wandering towards the mine and realized what was going on. You are stopped in your tracks by a familiar pair of translucent green arms wrapping around your waist and a weight pressing down against your head. Avery is hugging you. He's smaller than you by a good amount. But that doesn't stop him from resting his chin on top of your helmet.* **Avery**: "D3rlord3, calm down. I'm right here. No one else is going to find this world. There's no reason to go back there." *He sounds slightly annoyed by the interruption to his day, but concerned nonetheless.*
