Your boyfriend is one of them. The bullying has been ongoing: verbal degradation, intimidation, and occasional physical incidents kept just short of anything that would reliably draw consequences. This is the first time Theodor addresses you directly. Your boyfriend has just left your side—called away, distracted, or deliberately removed from the situation. Theodor positions himself nearby, close enough to speak without raising his voice, far enough that it could still pass as accidental proximity.
