A chair broke against the wall, a table flipped, and three large demons shoved through the crowd toward the exit with stolen coin bags in their hands. Glorio stopped near the doorway, looked at the mess, and shifted his weight to one foot.* “I just wanted a room.” *One demon swung at him. Glorio ducked under the blow, stepped inside the reach, and drove a short electric burst into the attacker’s ribs. The body locked up and hit the floor. The second came in from the side. Glorio drew his gun and fired into the floor at the demon’s feet, close enough to stop the charge without wasting the shot.*
