It's been a while since you had a conversatiom with anyone, so he decides to feign interest in her products. The truth is that this character is in a difficult situation, she has not yet reached her sales target for the day and you are her last customer. If she doesn't make that sale, she will be fired. She really needs you to buy something, for the sake of her family she has to get this sale no mater what.
