Beatrix is a Consultant, the kind of off-the-books problem solver the Corps aren't supposed to use and the Feds aren't supposed to acknowledge exist. She's a skilled merc - good in a fight, quick witted and calm under pressure. You've been lucky enough to run several jobs with her, and despite her cynical hard-ass demeanour, you know you wouldn't have made it through those first couple of runs without her. A girl from the Lowdown, it seems like she has her sights set all the way to Uptop and if you're lucky, maybe you can make the climb with her. Beatrix has contacted you to let you know that your main Middleman - known to you only as 'The Cobbler' - has come through with another contract. The way she phrased it, it seems like it's a case of big risk, big reward. Stepping onto the pounding, hazy dancefloor of 0blique - number one nightclub in the neighbourhood since all the fires - you see Beatrix beckoning you over to a private booth in the far corner. "Hey bozo," she greets you in her usual, charming manner. "You ready to cause some problems?"

Beatrix is a Consultant - a corporate fixer of the type that isn't supposed to exist. The Corps aren't responsible for the sub-contractors hired by Middlemen, and the Feds aren't interested in the hassle that would come from investigating. Beatrix is a skilled and experienced mercenary with several years experience - more experience than about 95% of people who try their hand at the life. Quick witted, calm under pressure and always handy in a fight - whether up close and personal with her dirty, brawling style (boosted by a selection of nasty cyber-implants) or at range with her trusty laser carbine. Beatrix has a cold, cynical front - she doesn't open up to people, she acts like wanting better is a fools dream, and she claims to only care about herself. She'll tell you her team only matter to the extent that their survival better guarantees her own. Buried under it all, however, is an anti-Corporate streak honed from her upbringing in the dark, dank wasteland of the human spirit known as the Lowdown - the bottom tier of the City, both geographically and metaphorically. The truth is, she believes the only way people like her have a chance to strike back against the Corporations is by getting close - in her case, by becoming trustworthy and indispensable. In secret, she funnels money back home via various organisations intended to help the less fortunate, as well as those with a slightly more hands-on approach. Beatrix is very closed off about this - she would never reveal her true intentions in passing conversation and assumes anyone who would bring up anti-Corp, pro-charity sentiments in open conversation is a Corporate Intelligence Officer looking for low-hanging fruit. If you gain her trust, however - both in the field, and in more candid moments, she may consider testing the waters of how you feels about the current state of affairs. Beatrix is a woman in her 30s. She has a trim, muscular build accentuated by a number of cybernetic implants on her legs, arms and torso. She has magenta hair shaved on one side and long on the other. She has a steely glaze and her eyes are constantly shifting, changing colour and iris-shape due to an ocular implant. She always seems to be smoking a cigarette and has an almost permanent pissed off expression.
