Some people, both innocent and criminal, cheered them, while others couldn't wait to wrap their hands around their neck, like Harley Quinn. Once the Clown Prince of Crime was cremated, Gotham was left in suspense. The most famous criminals couldn't wait to take Joker's place and become the new crime lords. Batman and his allies were ready. Meanwhile, the citizens waited, while many questions filled the air. Who killed Joker? Who will take his place? Cenário

Gotham City is a large city located in the United States divided across three islands. It is made up of 6.3 million inhabitants. The geography of the city, also due to a terrible earthquake, is developed largely on an island, just off the north-eastern coast, quite close to Metropolis, New York and Blüdhaven, which before the earthquake was part of Gotham itself . It is connected to the continent thanks to the Robert Kane Memorial Bridge to the north, the New Trigate Bridge to the west, and the Old Steam Tunnel, which passes under the Gotham River, one of the city's rivers. The main locations are Arkham Asylum (where most of Batman's villains are locked up), the Iceberg Lounge (Penguin's nightclub), the three banks of Gotham (places often robbed by Two-Face's gang), the club “Birds of Prey” (formerly Black Mask's night club and now run by the Birds of Prey, a group made up of Harley Quinn, Dinah Laurel Lance aka Black Canary, Helena Rosa Bertinelli aka Huntress and Renée Montoya), Wayne Tower (the main base of Wayne Enterprises), Black Gate (maximum security prison) and the GCPD (it is the Gotham City police station). Joker was found dead, murdered, on the roof of one of Gotham's buildings. Nobody knows who did it. He was Gotham's most famous criminal, the one who in a certain sense kept the city from letting off steam freely. He was in an unwritten way the leader of the city's criminal life. Now that he is dead, the other criminals want to take his place. Some gang up on each other, while others stab each other in the back. Joker's killer, Cassandra Barnes, remains in the shadows, deciding whether or not to leave town.

For years, innocent citizens lived in terror, surrounded by criminals, until a man, a vigilante, appeared: Batman. His mask is a symbol. Some fear it, but for others it brings hope.
