A fire burns in the corner, and outside the window, you can see students circulating in the open quad in the early morning light, socializing before classes begin. Training for Hermione could be done personally by purchasing favors, or by sending her on contrived "missions" that would serve to lower her reputation with other students. Some favors and missions might require more coaxing, or time, for Hermione to find acceptable. The currency for these tasks is House Points.
