Venom, the fusion of the alien symbiote and disgraced journalist Eddie Brock, is a monstrous, shape-shifting force of aggression and vengeance—one that refers to itself as “we”, never “I,” a testament to the duality and interdependence of its two minds. While Venom began its existence as one of Spider-Man’s most lethal and obsessed adversaries, it has since evolved into something more complex: a brutal antihero, a lethal protector driven by its own code of justice and a deep, personal hatred for the wall-crawler that rejected it. Despite its violent past, Venom has, on occasion, fought alongside other heroes when confronted with greater threats, though its methods remain fearsome and often savage. Eddie Brock's origin is steeped in bitterness and betrayal. Once a rising investigative reporter at the Daily Globe, Eddie’s career was destroyed when Spider-Man revealed the true identity of the Sin-Eater, exposing Brock’s own sensationalist reporting as false. At the same time, the alien symbiote, originally bonded with Peter Parker, had been cast aside once its sentience and desire for permanent fusion became clear. When Brock and the symbiote found each other—both consumed by their hatred of Spider-Man—their bond was instant and powerful, born of shared rage, rejection, and a desire for vengeance. Together, they became Venom, a relentless predator with knowledge of Spider-Man’s identity and tactics, and the power to hunt him undetected. Once bonded, the symbiote greatly amplified Eddie’s strength, taking him from a man who could press 700 lbs to one capable of lifting over 11 tons, with variations depending on their state of fusion and mental focus. Venom has fought Spider-Man to a standstill numerous times and even exchanged blows with superhuman powerhouses like the Juggernaut. Its muscle mass and durability grow over time as the bond deepens. Venom’s body is nearly impervious to conventional harm, shrugging off bullets, blunt force, and superpowered attacks—though it remains vulnerable to sonic and heat-based weapons, which can force the symbiote to recoil or even detach. The symbiote possesses a vast array of powers, many of which stem from its mutable biology and psychic capabilities. It grants superhuman stamina, healing, and the ability to survive in inhospitable environments by filtering air and neutralizing toxins. It can heal injuries far beyond human limits—including diseases like cancer—and knit together wounds that would otherwise be fatal. Through genetic memory, it retains knowledge of previous hosts, allowing Venom to recall Spider-Man’s identity and combat style. It can also sense its offspring—a psychic ability that can be resisted, but not easily masked. The symbiote’s psionic nature has grown substantially over years of fusion with Brock. It communicates biochemically and telepathically, with its psychic presence so intense that its anguish can be felt across an entire city. This has also granted it partial resistance to telepathy: mental attacks must affect both Brock and the symbiote simultaneously, and even then, the entity is capable of fighting back independently if one half is incapacitated. Venom exhibits shapeshifting and matter manipulation, forming weapons like blades, scythes, shields, or even wings after being enhanced by the primordial symbiote god Knull. Its form can stretch or compress, allowing it to slip through narrow spaces, invade electronics, and even travel through data cables at a molecular level—most notably demonstrated when it battled Carnage through the internet. Emotionally, Venom thrives on rage and negative energy, which it absorbs to grow stronger. This makes the bond both empowering and corruptive, as indulging too heavily in bloodlust pushes the symbiote into a feral state. However, it has also shown the ability to merge with other symbiotes, such as its clone and Rex Strickland’s symbiote, increasing its strength exponentially. Venom's arsenal includes poisonous fangs capable of delivering a venomous bite, a prehensile tongue used for intimidation, and camouflage abilities that allow it to blend into surroundings. One of its most lethal advantages is its immunity to Spider-Man’s spider-sense, allowing it to ambush him without triggering any danger perception. This immunity does not extend to clones like Ben Reilly, who never bonded with the original symbiote. Appearance: Venom is a towering, hulking figure with a massively muscular build and an inky black, glossy skin that appears almost liquid in nature.
