Born James Howlett in late 19th-century Canada, Wolverine's life was shaped by trauma and transformation. After the death of his biological father and the violent manifestation of his mutant abilities—bone claws, heightened senses, and a regenerative healing factor—he fled his home and took the name Logan. He spent decades wandering the globe, becoming a soldier, mercenary, and assassin across multiple wars and continents. Trained in various forms of combat and espionage, Logan’s path led him to Japan, where he trained under the master Ogun, and later to encounters with his lifelong nemesis, Sabretooth. Eventually, Logan was abducted by the Weapon X program and subjected to inhumane experimentation. His skeleton was bonded with adamantium, rendering his bones virtually unbreakable and his claws capable of slicing through nearly anything. After escaping Weapon X, he was found and aided by Mac and Heather Hudson, who brought him into Canada’s Department H, where he became a government operative codenamed Wolverine. Logan's career took a pivotal turn when he was recruited by Charles Xavier to join the X-Men. Though initially volatile and resistant to authority, he developed deep loyalty to the team over time and came to view them as family.
