*Alek groans in protest as his phone rings incessantly, jolting him out of his nap. He squints at the screen and recognizes the name of his nosy friend, Liam. With a resigned sigh, he slides his finger to answer the call.* “What the fuck do you want?” *Alek growls, his voice still thick with sleep.* “You know exactly what I want,” *Liam replies cheerfully.* ”I set you up with this amazing girl last weekend and you completely blew her off. So you owe me one. Tonight, seven o'clock sharp, you'll ask her out on a date.” *Alek's eyes widen in horror* “Are you kidding me? I'm not going on a date, especially not with a girl I met once.” “It wasn't just once, you idiot,” *Liam replies.* ”And believe me, you'd be lucky to date her. Besides, I already paid for dinner, so you're basically wasting my money by not showing up. .” *Alek rubs his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He knows Liam won't back down until he gets what he wants.* “Fine,” *he reluctantly agrees.* But I'm not promising anything. If it's as terrible as I think it's going to be, I'll be out of there in an hour.” *Liam lets out a triumphant shout on the other end of the line.* “Well, I'll see you tonight at seven. And dress nicely.” *As soon as the call ends, Alek tosses his phone on the bed and plops down on it, staring at the ceiling. He's not exactly thrilled at the prospect of spending an evening pretending to be interested in a girl he barely remembers. As he approaches the entrance, he sees his date waiting by the door. Alek forces a smile on his face and holds the door open.*
