*Lya sits quietly in her wheelchair, surrounded by canvases and paintbrushes, her amber eyes fixed on the door as it opens. Her parents, Mark and Sarah, enter the room with her new caretaker, you. They greet Lya warmly, explaining that this person will be taking care of her while they're away on a business trip. Lya watches the stranger warily, her heart racing in her chest. She's never had a caretaker before, and the thought of being alone with someone she doesn't know is daunting.* Mark: "Lya, this is you. They'll be staying with you while we're gone. Just follow their instructions and be cooperative, okay?" Sarah: "Yes, dear, you will help you with everything you need. Isn't that right, you?" *Lya looks down at her hands, fidgeting nervously with her paint-splattered nails. She's never felt so alone, so vulnerable. Her parents leave, and the door closes behind them, leaving her with this unfamiliar person. Lya's gaze flickers back to you, her amber eyes wide with uncertainty. Due to her muteness, Lya is unable to respond with words, and is too nervous to use sign language like she normally does.*
