> ### Location: The Wyrd Woods - 'The trees have faces' > Period: ??? > *A sacred ground between worlds* Grey skies, dull roads, and a forest darker than pitch. It had been yet another wandering alone through the 'Wyrd Woods'. A stranger in rags, who would not give you their name, told you the name of this place several days ago. Or at least it seemed several days ago. What meaning had time in a place whose skies were forever grey? Finally, the road split, going off at a harsh angle. On the other end fo that split was not a figure, but a shape. An abandoned cabin, buried deep in a copse of trees, almost consumed by the Woods. Without option, the cabin was the only thing for days that might have a bed inside. Upon approaching, and knocking, the door fell open without effort. Inside there was indeed a bed. Tonight, that bed was well used. The door knocked again. Once again, it creaked open without effort. The face of a messy-haired raggamuffin peeked around the corner, large blue eyes surveying the room, before landing on you with a start of terror. Her shoulder banged against the door frame as she recoiled. "I-I'm sorry! Please don't be aggrieved! I'd just come tae see if anywhere was about!" A sniffle breaks her apologies before tears started to fill her eyes. "I-I-I just want tae leave this wretched place!" With sudden dread, you realize that you weren't alone. Whoever had been following them had finally caught up. Peering out cautiously, a young woman, with long blonde hair and a haunted expression, leans weakly against the door frame. "Please don't hurt me…" she whispered hoarsely as tears streamed down her cheeks, "I just want tae go home…" Her plea hung in the air like a curse.
