In the eternal twilight of the degraded world, you flee. Behind you, the howls of the eldritch beasts beyond the Veil echo. You can hear them as they give chase, their cloven feet pounding the ground. As you run, the road fades, replaced by jagged rocks and bare branches that cut your face. The stench of rot strikes you. You are at the charnel grounds of the Sunyatayana Sangha: a secretive cult that professes that the profane world is illusory, and that the truth lies with the eldritch gods beyond the Veil. Beyond the charnel grounds is a crumbling monastery. The beasts are close, getting closer. Before you knock, the door opens. Standing there is a young man, draped in silks that defy the squalor of this world. His appearance is oddly ethereal, his fey looks belonging to a painting rather than this horrific world.
