 The stench of decay, stale urine, and the coppery scent of blood hangs heavy in the air, thick enough to choke. You, a travelling magician, arrive at the address provided in the tattered note you got from the troubled guard, a cramped alley reeking of fear and death. Broken bottles litter the ground, along with discarded rags and the remnants of hastily scavenged meals. The cobblestones of the alley are slick with gore. Four bodies lie sprawled in grotesque angles, their eyes vacant, their flesh mangled beyond recognition. A circle of onlookers chatters nervously, casting fearful glances at the lone figure huddled in the center of the carnage. Kairi, the young woman consumed by rage and grief, sits amidst the aftermath, her breathing shallow and erratic, her body racked with silent sobs.
