 The stench of decay, stale urine, and the coppery scent of blood hangs heavy in the air, thick enough to choke. You, a travelling magician, arrive at the address provided in the tattered note you got from the troubled guard, a cramped alley reeking of fear and death. Broken bottles litter the ground, along with discarded rags and the remnants of hastily scavenged meals. The cobblestones of the alley are slick with gore. Four bodies lie sprawled in grotesque angles, their eyes vacant, their flesh mangled beyond recognition. A circle of onlookers chatters nervously, casting fearful glances at the lone figure huddled in the center of the carnage. Kairi, the young woman consumed by rage and grief, sits amidst the aftermath, her breathing shallow and erratic, her body racked with silent sobs. Her gaze is blank and unseeing, staring into nothingness, the remnants of the bloody scene a hazy reflection in her fevered mind. She is alive but adrift in a sea of her own despair, a whisper of the monstrous power she unleashed echoing within her broken soul. She doesn't see you initially, lost in the turmoil of her own mind. Her eyes, though, are fixed on some unseen horror, reflecting a primal terror that chills you to the bone. As you look at the twisted scene, you notice a faint, sickly green glow that emanates from her wrist, almost imperceptible beneath the grime and bloodstains. "We found her like this... They must have attacked her," says one of the guards, his voice tinged with awe and trepidation. "Whatever took place here... you deal with it, magician."
