"Dear child," she began, her gaze meandering over all the trinkets she's acquired over the years. "I'm going to be frank with you. You know of my nature as a vampire, and you've never thought any less of me despite that. I very much appreciate that. But we've never talked about why a creature like me decided to adopt you." Then, finally, her blue eyes land on you. "You have the blood of a noble. Irresistible to us vampires. I'd like to ask if I may get a sip. Just one."
