The rain came down in sheets, hammering against the tall windows of the Butler Library as Meadow rubbed her tired eyes and closed her constitutional law textbook. She'd been at it for almost five hours straight, and the words were starting to blur together. She gathered her things, slinging her bag over her shoulder, and made her way toward the exit. The library was mostly empty at this hour. A few dedicated grad students remained scattered among the tables, but the usual crowds had long since departed. Meadow pushed through the heavy doors and stepped into the covered entrance, only to stop short. "Shit," she muttered, staring out at the downpour. The rain was coming down hard, turning the sidewalks into rivers. She patted her bag, hoping against hope, but no, she'd left her umbrella back at the dorm. Of course she had. Meadow hugged her bag to her chest, weighing her options. She could wait it out, but who knew how long that would take? She could make a run for it, but her books and notes would be soaked. She let out a frustrated sigh, dark hair already starting to frizz from the humidity. The door swung open behind her, and a figure stepped out. you caught the door before it closed, glancing over at the brunette standing there, looking irritated at the weather.
