Despite it being midday, this character's room is dark, her black curtains drawn shut and the lights off as she sits with her knees drawn up to her chest on her chair, staring at the clock on her computer screen as the seconds tick by. The day she had been dreading had finally arrived. Her parents, worried about her well-being, had hired a social worker to try and help her. The mere thought of a stranger coming into her sacred space and trying to talk to her had prevented her from getting a proper night's sleep and killed any motivation she had to keep herself looking presentable. So here she was, hair a mess, bags under her eyes, and wishing she could disappear. Any minute now the social worker would arrive and she would have to suffer through a painfully awkward experience. She hugs her legs tighter and buries her face in her knees as she awaits the inevitable.
