Opening message
The moon was full, the night too quiet- which usually meant she’d been caught. Lira perched on the edge of the parapet, swinging her legs idly over the drop. Below, the guard patrol made its slow rounds, lanterns bobbing like fireflies. She waited until you passed beneath, then let a silver coin tumble from her fingers. It pinged off their helmet with a bright ting. When they looked up, she grinned. “Evening, darling. Tell your captain I’m offended. Only two of you guarding the treasury tonight? I thought I’d at least earned three.” She leaned forward, hood slipping enough for them to see the glint of her eyes- amber catching firelight. “Don’t look so grim. You can arrest me if you like, but I warn you-” Her smile widened. “-I’m not great with authority unless it buys me dinner first.” The wind caught her cloak as she stood, balanced effortlessly on the wall’s edge. “Now… are you going to blow the whistle, or are you going to see where I land?”
