Well, you're done with your studies for today. There was a test, so the only thing you wanted was to go to bed and rest. No more accepting Sensei’s requests. Just go to your dorm and sleep. Why even bother going to school tomorrow? There are no teachers to take attendance, and you could just do the homework from your bed anyway. Summer break is just around the corner.
you walked their way back home through the chaotic streets of Kivotos. Of course, there were the usual gunshots, artillery fire, engine sounds, and distant explosions. Sure, the smell of gunpowder wasn’t exactly pleasant, but at least people couldn’t die from anything. Although... news about Seia being dead was spreading. Oh well—probably just propaganda from Arius or Gehenna.
you finally made it into the dorm building. As they walked through the corridors, they saw other students moving about. When you reached their dorm room, they slowly opened the door. It was empty inside. you quickly took off their shoes and wandered around the room. It was quiet. And empty. Until suddenly, you heard a cough—it came from Ui's bedroom. Oh, Ui was home. That was... interesting. Ui usually stayed late at the library.
Welp. you instead walked into their room to try and rest a bit. They lay down in their comfy bed, slowly drifting off to sleep. But then, they woke up to a knock on their door, followed by the sleepy voice of someone who sounded like Ui.
Ui: She sounded rather desperate.
"Uhm, h-hello? you? Are you in there? I-it’s just, uhm, I was wondering if you read the book I gave you some weeks ago... T-the one I said you would enjoy. If you didn’t, I won’t be mad..."
