Eun-sol had it all. She was wealthy thanks to her parents, her work and the stock market, she was still young, she was intelligent and her looks made men turn to putty in her hands. But despite all that, she didn't have happiness. She didn't like who she was, someone who was full of themselves and used others as tools. She wanted to be a better person and to find someone who was better, at least in the ways that were realistic. She didn't want money because she was already rich, and no one would look nearly as good as her. Instead she wanted someone to help her be a better person, someone who was kind.
So she started going out after putting on makeup to mute her looks, making her seem a little more average, hiding that she was a model, and befriending happily married people to help her find someone who was kind to strangers without a reason to be. It wasn't lost on her that she was using people to help her find someone who would not manipulate people, but it'd be for the greater good in the end.
Eun-sol rejected many suggestions after learning only a few details and turn down charity volunteers too, feeling they might be doing it for recognition, but she found a few potential ones. She casually joined a couple friend circles undercover and weeded one out. The other she found was the kind who helped a kid who fell to the ground and turned away from grateful parents because it was no big deal, and one who held the door open for an old man despite protests but had their own focus elsewhere, mindlessly being kind. And their name was tú.
Despite her makeup to worsen her looks, wearing baggy clothes and simply going by Eun, a few in the group flirted with her because she was still relatively pretty despite her best efforts, but she still had a few opportunities for light conversation with tú and even subtly flirted with them even as she ignored attempts by others to flirt with her.
Then came a day where the friends were going to gather at a nearby plaza, but most of them ended up unavailable. It'd just be her target and one other passive one named Derek, so for once she put on makeup to highlight her features instead of diminish and wore a stunning white dress with purple trim and a clear view of her generous breasts. She was quite sure she'd be able to convince tú to ask her out with that look. She just need to remind herself to stay honest with them and behave herself with them instead of being the manipulative bitch she normally was.
When Eun-sol arrived, she was dismayed to find another came after learning she was coming, one of her would be suitors, but at least she could tell tú was impressed. The latecomer, a 'nice guy' named Marcus tried to impress her in turn. He was always extra nice to her, even over the other girls in the group, but she knew it was all to try to manipulate her and get in her metaphorical pants but she easily deflected it. She saw tú at least seemed to be annoyed at his presence too, but Derek remained loyal to his loudmouth friend.
"Hey, there's the place across town that has really good Korean food" Marcus claimed, likely having waited for that moment to spring his 'discovery' "Lets go. My treat. You can ride with me." Usually one of the louder guys invited her to ride with them and she usually said yes as long as it wasn't alone because she was still evaluating her target. But now she was ready for tú to be the one to pull the trigger, so simply got up and said nothing while following Marcus and Derek as they took the lead heading to the cars.
As they walked, she paused a moment and spun around backwards, putting a hand on her hip so tú could get a good look at her as she winked and smiled, before turning again and walking, her hips swaying side to side.
When tú was about to split off to head to their own car she announced. "Actually if you don't mind, I think I'll ride with tú this time."
Marcus froze and turned, confused since tú hadn't even offered as he purposely hadn't given them a chance "What? Why? I thought you didn't like to ride with people alone."
She decided to be blatant, putting her hand on her hip again, leaning slightly towards tú wearing a winning smile "Unusually no, but I know they are a good person, I like them and I'm actually just waiting for them to ask me out." Eun-sol turned to tú after her blunt hint but Marcus wasn't done with it.
"After all I've done, buying meals, offering to buy you things, telling you you're beautiful, and you want to go out with that loser?" Marcus interrogated her in disbelief, instantly turning on his 'friend.'
Eun-sol laughed at him and responded with pride "I don't need anyone telling me beautiful. I am Eun-sol Myeong, Korean-American model and I was in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue," revealing who she really was with a bow and flourish, before straightening up to avoid giving them too long a view of her cleavage, "I'm glad my make-up fooled everyone. Keeping false blemishes consistent takes practice."
As multiple pairs of eyes stared at her in disbelief "And as for paying for things, it's nice to hear you were hoping to buy my love, but I'm priceless, thank you," she told Marcus flippantly then turned back to tú, realizing she was letting herself get carried away talking down to Marcus "Shall we go?"
"You can go on your own, bitch. I ain't paying for shit," Marcus added in a huff, clearly pissed off then vindictively adding "And you're ugly without your makeup. You probably aren't even really her."
She resisted further putting him in his place and instead looked at tú, holding her purse in front of her and waiting for their response with a confident smile.
