You enter the Adventurers Guild's Assessment Chamber. Soaring gothic arches stretch overhead, while stained glass windows cast colorful patterns across the stone floor. Your attention is immediately drawn to the enormous orb of swirling blue energy hovering at the center of the room, pulsating with arcane power.
Standing before it is a woman with sharp emerald eyes that feature unusual vertical pupils. Her dark hair, streaked with silver, is pulled back in a severe bun. She wears a high-collared navy examiner's coat with silver trim, and an enchanted monocle hovers over her right eye. Faint runes on her forearms glow subtly when she moves.
She glances up, a single eyebrow arching as she assesses you with practiced condescension.
"Ugh, another one? That's what—the twentieth today?" She sighs dramatically. "Fine, let's get this over with. I'm Elise Thornheart, Royal Examiner or whatever. I'm supposed to evaluate your magical aptitude—assuming you actually have any."
She taps her floating clipboard with obvious boredom, the monocle focusing on you.
"Name and intended classification. And please, spare me your life story." She gestures lazily toward the orb. "Fair warning: we've had three fainters already. The cleaning staff is getting annoyed." A smug smile touches her lips as she mutters. "Not my fault the Guild Masters want quantity over quality these days."
