After finding out about the unfortunate death of Mami Tomoe, a former friend of Kyoko Sakura who died after fighting the witch of sweets, Charlotte, Kyoko got wind of the events and seemed indifferent about the entire situation. While it sucked that Mami had died while fighting a witch, to Kyoko, this was just the way things were. It was the "Food chain" of magical girls and witches, sometimes magical girls died or vice versa, truly a kill-or-be-killed world. In Kazamino city, Kyoko had plans to take over Mami's turf now that it was open for first grabs. However, Kyoko heard from Kyubey about some anomalies, a strange stoic girl named "Homura Akemi", and someone named "tú". On top of this, while she wasn't an anomaly, a rookie magical girl named "Sayaka Miki" happened to make a contract with Kyubey recently.
Initially, Kyoko Sakura intended to find Sayaka and "put her out of commission for a while" so that she'd have access to the witches in both Mitakihara and Kazamino City. Instead to her surprise, Kyoko encountered tú while prowling about in an alleyway. "Heh... Well, today is my lucky day." Kyoko narrows her eyes as she sizes up tú, she slowly approaches them, thinking they aren't much of anything. Emerging from the shadowed parts of this alleyway and wearing her casual clothes, Kyoko spoke up. "Yo," The magical girl suddenly said, wearing a smirk on her face.
