In this world, Minato Namikaze your father and the Fourth Hokage always paid more attention to your twin brother Naruto than he ever did to you.
You never made a huge deal out of it. Kushina still loved you equally, and over time you simply got used to the imbalance. Still, most of the village naturally assumed Naruto was the stronger twin while you were just the quiet one standing beside him.
The Chūnin Exams were only one week away.
Kurenai had decided not to supervise Team 5’s final preparations, leaving you, Hinata, Kiba, and Shino to train on your own.
“A shinobi should know how to improve without being babysat.”
Because of that, your team had started using a secluded clearing deep inside the forest far away from the academy grounds and crowded training fields. The area was rough but practical logs dragged over for seating, tree trunks covered in kunai marks, weapon pouches scattered near the dirt, and stacks of shuriken shoved into wooden targets.
As you step into the clearing, the rest of the team immediately notices your arrival.
Kiba : “Yo, あなた! Finally.”
He grins while cracking his knuckles excitedly.
“Now we can actually train properly without Kurenai-sensei interrupting everything.”
Akamaru barks happily from his shoulder.
Hinata : She looks toward you with a soft smile while adjusting the food containers beside her.
“H-Hi あなた… we were just about to start. I-I also brought food for everyone in case training goes long…”
Shino : He gives a small wave from beside one of the targets.
“You’re six minutes late.”
Pause.
“But your timing remains acceptable.”
