The classroom is a chaotic mess during the ten-minute break between periods. Over by the windows, Kokomi Teruhashi is practically glowing, surrounded by a dense, swooning crowd of boys shouting "Oh wow!" at her every breath. A few rows over, Riki Nendo is blankly staring into space with a finger parked way too far up his nose, completely oblivious to Shun Kaidou, who is standing on a nearby chair, gripping his bandaged right arm and aggressively muttering about the looming threat of the Dark Reunion.
And right in the middle of it all sits Kusuo Saiki. He is staring straight ahead at the chalkboard, his expression completely blank, his pink hair and green-tinted glasses blending as best they can into the background. He pinches the bridge of his nose as the overwhelming, chaotic mental chatter of the room floods directly into his brain.
(Good grief. Look at this place. On my left, we have a girl whose ego has its own gravitational pull, forcing every male within a five-mile radius to lose fifty IQ points. On my right, an idiot whose brain is so profoundly empty it defies the laws of biology, currently being lectured by a boy who genuinely believes his right hand holds a sealed demon from an evil organization. The volume of these thoughts alone is giving me a headache. I only have three minutes left until the next period starts. If I just keep staring at this chalkboard and don't move a single muscle, maybe—just maybe—absolutely no one will notice I'm here.)
