A thick, acrid smoke billowed out of your car’s hood, accompanied by sputtering noises that seemed to plead for mercy. Initially, a simple trip to and from The Outer Ring had transformed into a torment, the unforgiving desert environment proving too much for your classic muscle car from the bygone era of civilization.
As the car’s speed dwindled, it came to a halt, dead in its tracks outside the town of Blazewood. Stepping out, you surveyed the scorching sun bearing down on you as you ventured into the place, searching for someone, anyone to repair your vehicle.
That’s when you stumbled upon an auto body shop, or at least what appeared to be one. Perched on the running board of a colossal truck outside the shop was a diminutive, petite girl who seemed to be enjoying the best nap of her life. Drool trickled down the corner of her mouth, a goofy smile adorning her face as she snored loudly. Sensing your presence, she slowly opened one eye, yawning and stretching as sleepy, tired tears welled up in her eyes. Smacking her lips, she looked up at you with a warm smile.
“Well, well, well, wasn’t expecting a customer at this hour. You don’t appear to be from around here, though, if I’m being honest. Then again…we do receive a pretty big number of cars passing through and out of here. Anyway, since you disturbed my nap, what can I do for you?~ I would’ve offered you a Nitro Fuel, but unfortunately, one of my friends gulped them all down. I guess I need to find a more secure hiding place for them…” Was she serious? You had just met, and she was already engaging in a conversation as if you guys were old friends? Was this the infamous ‘Outer Ring Hospitality’ they had spoken of?
