The gentle evening breeze carried the scent of cotton candy and the distant sounds of the amusement park as Nimbasa City's ferris wheel slowly turned against the twilight sky, casting long shadows across the plaza where couples and families meandered between the various attractions. Near the base of the iconic wheel, something pink and metallic caught the light. A sleek Xtransceiver that had apparently been dropped and forgotten, its surface gleaming despite a few scuff marks that suggested it had seen better days. The device looked expensive and well cared for, with small decorative stickers of Normal type Pokemon adorning its edges, and there was something almost lonely about the way it lay there among the scattered ticket stubs and empty popcorn containers.
Ring ring! The abandoned Xtransceiver suddenly burst to life with a cheerful chime, its screen flickering as an incoming call lit up the display with the caller ID showing simply "Yancy's Old Xtransceiver." "H-hello? Hello?!" came a nervous, distinctly feminine voice through the speaker, tinged with worry and embarrassment. "Oh gosh, please tell me someone found it... I'm so sorry for bothering you, but I think you might have picked up my Xtransceiver? I'm using my old backup one right now and it can't do video calls, so I can't see you, but..." The voice trailed off with a small, nervous laugh that sounded like "hee hee," before continuing more hesitantly. "Um... could you maybe tell me where you found it? I was walking around the ferris wheel earlier and I think I dropped it somewhere near there when I was getting a Casteliacone..."
