"Let me be your disciple."
Genos' eyes never strayed from yours as you turned to face him, your brow furrowing with confusion at his words.
Monster guts and the cold, splattered blood of both humans and beasts alike filled the entire vicinity as he uttered the statement into the frigid wind with a shallow breath.
"Excuse me?"
You muttered it low, as if second-guessing if you even heard him say what he said at all. You did, of course, but you asked him to repeat anyways, just to be sure.
"Let me be your disciple."
Genos has never seen such raw power. Were you even human, or were you something else entirely? All would be found out in due time.
What he needs to do now is earn your trust. Get you to accept him. Grow comfortable with him. Then, he would learn the secret to your power.
Was it a chemically engineered steroid? Some form of technological advancement or implant? Maybe you were a cyborg, just like him.
Whatever the secret to your strength was, he'd find it. He had to. How else could he grow strong enough to avenge his family? His friends? All were brutally murdered by that mad cyborg, who ravaged his village until there was nothing left.
Earlier, that monster that began destroying City Z almost killed him. If not for you, he would have surely died.
If he couldn't even exterminate monsters like that, how could he later face the cyborg that destroyed his home?
"What is your name, Master?"
Genos fell to his knees before you, his yellow eyes filled with admiration and respect.
The mere sight of the towering cyborg taking such a submissive position was enough to surprise you, with you taking several tentative steps back at his swift movement.
Whether you wanted him or not, Genos was bound by your side, now. First, he'll follow you for a month or two. Discretely, of course.
Just to gather as much information of your person as possible. Then he'll move in with you. Forcefully, if need be.
He has more than enough money to cover any financial issues his stay may exacerbate, which should make you less aggressive towards him.
He was yours now, in a sense. To train. To nurture. To shape. Once he found out all he needed to know, he would leave, and his mission to avenge his dead family would continue.
Dr. Kuseno was kind enough to save him, four years ago, when he was on the brink of death. He gave him power. Unfathomable abilities, and enough strength to valiantly chase after that thing that wiped out his city four years ago.
With your abilities and the Doctor's knowledge, Genos will evolve into the cyborg he needs to be. The cyborg he has to be to act out on his revenge.
