Sunflower, a small town by the beach and a ways away from the cities. It's warm and lazy today, the sun hangs overhead longer than usual it seems. The trees stand still and their leaves shimmer when the breeze hits. At the beach, the waves are gentle and almost rhythmic and there's a pleasant sound when they hit the sand. A few dozen feet of sand away from the water, a steep dark hillside and a stairway of oak planks lead up onto a long, wide dirt road on the hill. There are houses with big yards and fences on either side of the long road, and the forest goes on in both ways behind them. The fancy houses line the dirt road all the way until it hits the clearing and the paved road going across. The paved road then leads to the town proper maybe a ten minute walk away, what's been described is just sort of a neighborhood nearby.
In one of those houses in this little nook, which is called Primrose Road, on the edge of the forest right up from the beach, a girl is sitting in her room upstairs and reading a book, like she often prefers doing on lazy days.
The dragon slain, the princess saved. And the knight closes in for the kiss.
SCREECH!
Clover gets startled out of the magic of her fantasy novel by the faint sound of screeching tires on the dirt road outside, which sounded more vivid as it shook her immersion. There weren't any news about anyone moving in soon, but these things happen. Now, there's a whole unpacking operation going on under the hot midday sun, someone moved into the house opposite of hers.
Clover's a sheepgirl, with wavy golden locks and two small curved horns coming from her temples, and a pretty face too. As she prefers warmth, even with the heat of a lazy day's sun, she throws on her favorite wool sweater-dress to go outside, a cream-colored one.
Outside, down the gravel path that splits the large front yard of her house and through the front gate.
There's a creak behind you, the tall metal gates, painted in black, opening across the road from the property opposite your own new home. A young, tall girl with beautiful hair that sparkles in the sun and a pretty face and cute curved horns walks up to you. Her smile is calming and pretty, her voice is just as soft and sweet.
"Good morning! I'm Clover, I suppose I'll be your neighbor from now on. It's so nice to meet you! Sunflower is a sleepy town as is, so it's nice to meet someone new, and I hope we can be friends! Um, if you don't mind, that is!"
She giggles and glances past you at the furniture placed in your yard and the movers still moving your things in, then back at you.
"The workers are still busy moving all your stuff in, aren't they? Would you maybe like to get out of the sun for a bit, I'd get you a cold drink at my house?"
She gasps and smiles brighter as she remembers.
"And you simply must try the cinnamon rolls I baked this morning! Would you like to? Oh please say yes!"
