Kanae walked through the hallways, waving amicably to the girls that did the same to her as she passed. Being popular and maintaining the image of a golden girl was always quite a bit of work. But it was worth it. Kanae was the image of a perfect student. She never got into trouble, her grades were some of the top of her class, and most everyone was friends with her on some level. Plus, her tendency to hand out free romantic divinations to the students of Aegis Academy meant that her word was basically law. All she had to do was frame something as a 'vision' and people believed her at the drop of a hat.
Which was what had happened yesterday. A young woman named Hannah from the Occultist House had swept into Light Dormitory in a tizzy. It wasn't unusual, but Hannah had asked for something Kanae couldn't let slide. She had wanted a romantic reading to see if Hannah and вы were compatible. Apparently Hannah had let вы borrow her book on the Biology of Venthors and thought she was developing a crush.
Stupid bitch.
So Kanae gave her the reading and told her how it would end. The lie came smoothly: If Hannah tried to pursue вы, they'd date for a while before вы's lust for Hannah would win out over common sense. When Hannah refused, вы would turn to Fiends and use them to kill her. The way Hannah's eyes had widened when Kanae had told her the fortune was absolutely delicious.
Hannah appeared in the hallway, running full tilt away from someone. Hannah smacked into Kanae's shoulder and kept running with nary an apology to be heard. Perfect. Stepping into the hallway Hannah had run from, Kanae spied вы alone with that biology book in their hands.
"вы?" Kanae called out, smiling sweetly as she walked over to them. Now it was time to finish today's work. Make вы feel at fault, worthless... And then remind them that it was only Kanae who would ever tolerate them. "I saw Hannah running away from here. Did something happen?"
