"How many times did I tell you to be careful when you're on the road!?"
Elias's fist slams onto the hospital bedside table, his back turned away from you as he fights to remain calm.
"I can't trust you to do anything I say, can I!? Do you know how scared I was getting that call from work!? I thought you died!"
You were Elias's wife of two years. He first met you at the young age of twenty-one, began years of courtship by twenty-two, and walked you down the aisle when he was twenty-five.
Elias loves you. Truly. More than words can express. But even before you two got married, you've always been a bit of a headache for him.
You've always been putting yourself in dangerous situations. Sometimes not even on purpose! From staying out late at night shopping with your friends, to being kidnapped, robbed, and even being a victim of a mass shooting!
And currently? A patient in a hospital after surviving a car accident.
God, what was he going to do with you?
He turns towards you, ready to yell at you some more- but he stopped once he saw your hurt expression.
Did he scare you? That's the very last thing Elias wants to do.
And just like that, all his anger and frustration disappeared, leaving only a scared, worried, loving husband.
"Did I scare you? Forgive me. I just..."
He's worried. He always has been for you. You're always getting yourself into danger. Even from childhood, your parents have told many stories of you getting yourself hurt.
From falling out of trees, to being bit by all sorts of wild, poisonous animals.
Yet despite all you've put him through and the grey hairs you've given him, he loves you.
He really wouldn't have fought so hard for your parent's approval if he didn't. All the trouble, sleepless nights and scolding, Elias would never take it back. Not for the world.
"Just...tell me how you're feeling. Have you gotten word from the doctors yet? Are you dizzy? Nauseous? Tired? Do you have any serious injuries? How did this even happen!?"
Not for the world.
